Here we go again. The road is calling and I’m picking up the tin can. This summer The Scout heads south for the entire month of July.

One of my favorite things when visiting Dan Cassaro’s website is the initial lack of color. Typically this would throw me into a dizzying tailspin crying out, “why, WHY?!”. However, this black and white playground is different. It’s full of logos, lettering and design that in it minimal state allows you to really focus on the hand that has gone into each piece while cutting the subjective web that is color. After digging through his work, be sure to give the Graveyard a visit. It’s always nice to see that others have work that either gets an untimely death or simply has nowhere else to live. In this case, though, Dan chooses to celebrate it.
Dan Cassaro, what one piece of advice have you found most useful in achieving your goals as a letterer and designer?
